We are currently recruiting for Operation Technician – HV for one of our client to be based out of their office in Al Ain , UAE. Job Purpose: An Operation Technician for the 33/11 KV Maintenance Network is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of high voltage electrical networks. They play a crucial role in conducting inspections, carrying out maintenance activities, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the 33/11 KV distribution system. Job Responsibilities: Maintenance Support: Assist in conducting routine maintenance activities for the 33/11 KV networks, including inspections, equipment testing, cleaning, and preventive maintenance tasks. Follow established maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the reliability and longevity of network components. Equipment Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing of network equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays. Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or abnormalities, and work with senior technicians or engineers to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective measures. Safety Inspections: Participate in safety inspections of the 33/11 KV network infrastructure to identify potential hazards or safety risks. Report findings and assist in implementing measures to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Network Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in monitoring the performance of the 33/11 KV networks using monitoring systems, control panels, and data analysis tools. Collaborate in collecting and documenting relevant data, such as voltage levels, current flows, and power factor. Contribute to the preparation of reports on network performance and any identified issues or recommendations. Work Order Execution: Support the execution of work orders related to network maintenance, repairs, and installations. Assist in preparing materials and equipment required for tasks, following established procedures and guidelines. Collaborate with senior technicians or engineers to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, test results, and equipment performance. Assist in updating equipment and maintenance logs, ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately and on time. Equipment Calibration and Testing: Assist in calibrating and testing measuring devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, and power quality analyzers, to ensure accurate readings during network maintenance activities. Follow calibration procedures and report any deviations or equipment issues. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Report any safety concerns or incidents to senior technicians or supervisors. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members, senior technicians, and engineers to coordinate maintenance activities and troubleshoot network issues. Communicate findings, recommendations, and updates regarding network conditions and maintenance progress. Skills Diploma or vocational training in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required. Basic knowledge of 33/11 KV electrical networks, electrical distribution systems, and associated equipment. Familiarity with network monitoring systems, control panels, and basic data analysis tools. Understanding of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays. Ability to conduct basic testing and troubleshooting of network equipment under supervision. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Commitment to safety, adherence to regulations, and promoting a safe work environment.
